The American Youth Basketball Association (AYBA) Championships will be held June 30 – July 5, 2013 at the Carolina Courts in Concord, N.C. . Carolina Courts offers two separate facilities in the Charlotte area, totaling 92,000 square feet and housing 13 basketball courts.
The six-day event will feature opening ceremonies, basketball skills competition and team banner contest. Each team is guaranteed at least five games.
The opening ceremonies will be hosted by the Kannapolis Intimidators, a local minor league baseball team, at their 4,700 seat stadium. The Intimidators, a Chicago White Sox affiliate, will play the Greenville Drive following the ceremonies.
Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina and within a day's drive of many Northeastern, Mid-Atlantic and Southern locations. The international airport is the sixth busiest in the country. Three Amtrak routes serve Charlotte daily.
